About the Artist Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1953, Peter has always sought the skills to express himself creatively. As a child he loved art but never cared for art class, preferring instead to “figure it out” for himself, a tenacity that continues to this day. After completing formal training in architecture, Peter began a 20-year design practice in Washington, D.C. During this time he continued to explore the possibilities of a wide range of media and was represented by several galleries in the mid-atlantic region. In 1994 he decided to combine his business experience and creativity to open his first gallery in Washington, Virginia. Peter closed his successful Virginia gallery in December of 2006 and re-opened in Naples, Florida in 2008. |

Artist's Statement Composition, light, shadow, and texture are all essential elements in the creation of my work. The manipulation of these characteristics, invigorated with a fresh use of color, is a source of continual fascination. Frequently inspired by nature, the works have varying degrees of visual movement which draw the viewer in for a closer inspection. Led by his own curiosity and imagination, this visual interaction takes the viewer to a time, a place, or a memory that is uniquely their own. |
